Helps diabetic patients improve their quality of life by providing nutrition counseling, dialysis, and other medical services as well as teaching healthy eating habits/ providing support groups for diabetics.

Rhetorical Situations:
  • Pediatric endocrinologist communicates with the patient and parent. They help the patient manage diabetes by prescribing insulin and or medications. They work closely with patients to control blood sugar and monitor them so they can prevent health problems. The endocrinologist also communicates with other nurse residents.
  • Pediatric Nurse Educator communicates with the patient on how to use diabetes medication, how to work with insulin and give yourself shots, how to check blood sugar, & symptoms to be aware of. The nurse educator also communicates with the doctor and fellow nurses related to the patient.
  • Pediatric Registered Dietician offers diet plans to the patient.
  • Child psychologist: Communicates one on one with the patient.

Background Information: I interviewed Echo Stone, a young BSN graduate, who graduated from Dixon School of Nursing. She is a Pediatric Nurse that cares for patients between the ages of 0-18 years old. She works night shift from 7 P.M. to 7 A.M. at Clearwater Medical.
